The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Unit of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police and the Inter-ministerial Working Group against Trafficking in Persons will convene two one-day training workshops for Human Trafficking practitioners and stakeholders here next week.

This initiative is under the direction of the National Task Force against Trafficking in Persons, Chaired by Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves.

The training will be held on May 16 and 17, 2017 from 8:30am to 5:00pm daily at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Room and is geared towards sensitizing and equipping law enforcement officers, Immigration Officers, Customs Officers and other stakeholders both from the public and private sectors to effectively combat Human Trafficking.

The opening ceremony is slated for Tuesday May 16, starting at 8:30 am.

Brief remarks will come from Commissioner of Police Renold Hadaway; Mr. Jermaine Grant of the International Organization for Migration; Head of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Unit Superintendent, Ruth Jacobs; and Luca Pierantoni, First Secretary and Head of the Regional Cooperation and Trade Team of the Delegation of the European Union to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean States, the OECS and CARICOM/CARIFORUM.

The keynote address will be delivered by Collin Williams, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
