Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will leave St. Vincent and the Grenadines this Saturday to attend the 29th Inter-Sessional meeting of Caricom Heads of Government to be held in Haiti.

The Prime Minister’s delegation will include Allan Alexander-Director of the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU) and Senator Carlos James.

The summit takes place from February 26 to 27.

Regional leaders are expected to discuss a number of pertinent issues including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

They will look at procedures to which CARICOM Member States would adhere on the refusal of entry of CARICOM nationals, as well as Foreign Exchange difficulties affecting trade between some Member States.

Disaster Management and Recovery will also be addressed, in light of the 2017 hurricane season that wrought devastation on several member states, with Dominica and Antigua and Barbuda being among the most severely affected.

The leaders will also tackle longstanding concerns involving Colonial Life Insurance Company Limited (CLICO) and British American Insurance Company (BAICO).

After attending the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in Haiti, Prime Minister Gonsalves will travel to Suriname for an official.
