Vincy Mas 2018 festivities will swing into high gear from this Friday June 29, 2018.
The 2018 Carnival activities runs from June 29-July 10, and while many persons will be focused on having a good time, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force has a word of caution for persons.
Inspector Henry Providence of the Traffic Department of the local Police Force is reminding persons of the importance of avoiding an over indulgence in alcohol.
Inspector Providence is admonishing persons who will be driving to refrain from drinking alcohol since it can impair their judgement.
He said that persons who drink and drive will be putting not only their life but that of their passengers and others in danger.
Meanwhile, Inspector Providence is also appealing to parents and guardians who will be going into capital city Kingston to participate in carnival activities, not to leave young children unattended to.
Carnival gets underway with Fantastic Friday-the Calypso Semi Finals on Friday June 29, at the Victoria Park from 8:00pm.
