The Ministry of Education is taking steps to further expand and develop Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a vehicle for workforce development.

Towards this end, the Ministry has embarked on a programme dubbed “Another Nexus in Education for Workforce Development (ANEW)”.

The programme aims to improve access to vocational training for adults and young people who are out of school.

Minister of Education Jimmy Prince outlined the elements of the programme, at a recent launch hosted by the Ministry of Education.

According to NBC News, Minister Prince noted that the initiative is being implemented as part of the ongoing effort to De-stigmatize Technical and Vocational Education. He said the programme caters for both male and female participants.

The ANEW Programme is financed under the TVET Development project and funded by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
