Governor General, His Excellency Sir Fredrick Ballantyne has appealed for persons to display calm and sound judgement following the general election here on Wednesday, which was won by the Unity Labour Party (ULP).
Sir Ballantyne issued the admonition yesterday evening at a ceremony at Government House where Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves was sworn in as Prime Minister, Sir Louis Straker as deputy Prime Minister and Mrs. Judith Jones-Morgan as Attorney General.
The Governor General described the election campaign as having been “very hectic and divisive”.
