The Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) is hosting a week of activities to bring awareness to and celebrate World Water Day, on March 22.

World Water Day is celebrated each year on March 22, to promote the importance of fresh water around the world.

This year, the CWSA is hosting the water week activities from March 19 to Friday March 23, under the theme “2018 CWSA year of Water Conservation and Storage”.

Chairperson of the CWSA, Mrs. Girlyn Miguel in a message to declare Water week open pointed to the need for persons both on mainland St. Vincent and in the Grenadines to invest in water storage tanks to help alleviate the inconveniences caused by emergency situations.

Mrs. Miguel referred to the natural disasters including storms and flash floods that heavily impacted St. Vincent and the Grenadines during the period of 2010 to 2013, resulting in disruptions to the water supply in various parts of the island.
