Aidonia was briefly hospitalized last week Wednesday after falling ill upon arrival for a performance at Paggee Fisherman Beach in St. Mary.
The dancehall hitmaker was the headlining act for the event but began complaining about not feeling well a short time after his arrival at the venue. His team took him to the hospital as a precaution.
A rep for the artist, whose name is Sheldon Lawrence, told Urban Islandz that he was suffering from dehydration and exhaustion and was advice by doctors to get some rest.
“Aidonia would like to apologize to the organizers, sponsors, and patrons,” the deejay’s rep said in a statement issued to Urban Islandz. “He was unable to perform due to circumstances beyond his control after feeling ill upon arrival at the venue.”
His management also issued a full refund to organizers of the event.
