St. Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to have in excess of 80 per cent of its electricity generated by renewable energy, by the end of 2018 and certainly before the year 2020.
This is according to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves in his address yesterday Wednesday July 15th 2015 at the Media Launch of the National Geothermal Project.
Dr. Gonsalves noted that the reliance on imported fuel for the generation of electricity has resulted in the high cost of electricity in this country.
Prime Minister Gonsalves described the Geothermal Energy Project as a potential game changer for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
