The United States Coast Guard says it has detained two Guyanese and three Jamaican smugglers and seized 215 pounds of cocaine aboard a Guyanese fishing vessel in the Caribbean Sea.

The Coast Guard said on Monday that the interdiction, on July 2nd, was the result of a multi-agency law enforcement effort in support of Operation Unified Resolve, Operation Caribbean Guard and the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force.

The seized contraband has an estimated wholesale value of US$3.2 million, according to the Coast Guard.
