This year, 2017, has so far proven to be a big one for the tourism sector here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Glen Beache, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the SVG Tourism Authority in his remarks at the 2017 Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture Cocktail and Award ceremony at the Blue Lagoon Hotel Poolside said the tourism sector is the number one industry in this country.
Mr. Beache noted that since the operationalization of the Argyle International Airport on February 14, interest in St. Vincent and the Grenadines has grown dramatically.
Mr. Beache said that on December 14 the first scheduled international flight out of Canada operated by Air Canada Rouge will arrive at Argyle International Airport. He said that flight has been sold out.
The CEO of the SVG Tourism Authority is encouraging Vincentians to speak proudly of this country as a tourism destination, rather than merely championing negativity.
