The World Pediatric Project (WPP) concluded the year on a grateful and high note with a final laparoscopic mission.

For the period January to December 2018 there were a total of 14 missions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, the hub for pediatric specialty care in the Eastern Caribbean.

A total of 763 patients were evaluated, 199 from the region and 564 locally. A total of 183 children received surgical intervention, 72 children from across the region and 111 Vincentian patients.

On Friday December 7, 2018, Kim Haydock, President of the Rotary Club St. Vincent South presented a cheque to Dr. Dave Lanning Medical Director of the World Pediatric Project in a brief handing over presentation, which took place at the office of the World Pediatric Project.

Dr. Lanning said the partnership has been very special for years and he cannot thank Rotary enough, for the support which will help them move forward into 2019.

Lauren McIntosh –Executive Director of World Pediatric Project says WPP definitely has achieved a lot this year and thanked the Rotary Club St. Vincent South for their long standing support. She said the donation will assist the team on the road when on island.

President of the Rotary Club St. Vincent South, Kim Haydock, says she is pleased and proud to partner with WPP as they have a long history transcending over 15 years. She said St Vincent and the Eastern Caribbean can never thank the WPP for all the wonderful work they have done and we are all deeply indebted to the WPP and hope the work continues.
