Work on the South Leeward Highway Rehabilitation Project has been suspended for the Christmas Holiday and is scheduled to resume on Monday January 4th.

Community Liaison Officer for the Project, Marlon Stephenson told WEFM News that a small crew is however, in place to address any emergency situation that may arise.

Mr. Stephenson says work on the project continues to progress smoothly, and appealed for motorists to drive carefully along the South Leeward highway especially when approaching certain areas.

Meanwhile, Mr. Stephenson says persons have commended the contractor, DIPCON engineering for the work done thus far, and it is anticipated that the pace of work on the project will increase in the coming months.

Work on the project is expected to end in May 2016.
