A Women’s conference discussing the issue of diabetes is set to take place this Thursday November 16, at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Luke Browne said the conference will discuss a wide range of very important topics related to women and diabetes.

Minister Browne is encouraging members of the public to attend this important forum.

The scheduled speakers are Dr. Camille Nichols-Consultant Obstetrician, Dr. Mineva Glasgow-Deputy Executive Director of the National Insurance Services (NIS), Dr. Jozelle Miller-Health Psychologist and Dr. Jerrol Thompson.

Meanwhile, Minister Browne said the activities commemorating World Diabetes Day 2017 will conclude on Friday with Free Health Screenings at the Central Market in Kingstown.

The screenings will take place between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm on Friday.

The Health Minister is encouraging women, girls, men and boys to take advantage of these opportunities to get screened for diabetes.
