A special ceremony, which will mark the official close of WE Fm’s 2019 youth summer reading challenge program – will be held tomorrow morning at WE FM Studios, located at Lower Questelles.

The reading challenge, which ran from Monday August 5th to the 9th exposed the participants between the ages of 12-15 – to training in Fluency, Confidence, Voice, Diction and various careers in the Media.

During tomorrow’s closing ceremony – there will be presentation of awards for the top three positions in We FM’s Live Midday and 3 pm News reading challenge, which was held on Friday August 9.

The ceremony will also feature remarks by facilitators, participants, judges and sponsors, the distribution of certificates and bags to students, and special wards.

The five finalists are Antonio Charles of the Buccament Bay Secondary School; Tia Jacobs of the St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua, Leah Johnson of the West St. George Secondary School and Jaydealeah Chambers and Lafika Samuel representing the Girls High School.

WE FM commenced its youth summer reading challenge program in 2013.

This year’s program was held on the theme “Building Better Readers”.

Tomorrow’s closing ceremony is expected to commence at 9 in the morning and will be aired live on WE FM Radio 99.9.
