A new group, Voice of the Disabled, will be launched here tomorrow.

The group based on the Windward side of the island was founded by Cheryl Adams, a Teacher at the School for Children with Special Needs, who is visually impaired.

A member of the Executive of the group, Mrs. Yolanda Grant told WEFM News that the group which was started in October 2016 is focused on representing all persons with disabilities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Mrs. Grant who has a two year old daughter who is visually impaired said that disability is not an inability and that persons with disabilities once given a chance can make a positive and vital contribution to the development of this country.

The launching of the group will be done at a ceremony from 2:30 pm tomorrow at the Colonarie Resource Center under the theme “Where there is no vision the people perish”.

The Executive of the group comprises Mrs. Cheryl Adams as President; Egbert Dabreo-Vice President; Shamesh Adams-Secretary; Yolanda Grant-Public Relations Officer (PRO); Nathalie Jack-Treasurer and Community Member-Kevier Yearwood.
