Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC), Mr. Thornley Mayers says acts by persons to damage the company’s property impacts not only VINLEC and its operations, but all Vincentians.

Mr. Mayers statement at a press conference on Tuesday came following three incidents earlier this month where persons on two occasions attempted to Fire Bomb VINLEC’s head office at Paul’s Avenue, and an incident at Yambou in which a utility pole was set on fire.

The CEO says that since those incidents VINLEC has had to ramp up security at its compound.

Mr. Mayers noted that VINLEC has made tremendous strides in the past 30 years, and added that during that period both the Unity Labour Party (ULP) and New Democratic Party (NDP) administrations have taken a special interest in the company.
