The St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) will be seeking to further highlight and encourage the importance of promoting health, safety and wellness in the workplace with a series of activities during the month of May.

Tomorrow April 28, 2018, will be observed as World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

Thornley Myers, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VINLEC told reporters at a media briefing at the company’s Corporate Headquarters on Wednesday that the World Day for Safety and Health and Work, seeks to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases, globally.

Mr. Myers said the theme of VINLEC’s Safety Month is “safety ties us together.”

Mr. Myers said the month of activities will commence on Wednesday May 2, 2018 with an official opening ceremony at the Cane Hall compound of VINLEC.

VINLEC’s CEO said that during the month of May, all employees of the company will be signing a pledge to commit to work in a safe environment for the benefit of themselves, their co-workers and their families.
