Vincentian song writer Adonis Browne also known as ‘Major Dan’ is making waves by elevating Caribbean music.

‘Baby Gyal’ – Major Dan’s latest single was released at a private launch at Dukes Hotel in Northern Ireland with special guest speaker Dr. Christopher Stange, Consulate of St Vincent and Grenadines local artists and musicians, DJs, film maker James Rea Jr – Belfast Bohemian Productions with a host of supporters, participants and well wishers in attendance.

Adonis and his brother Jiggsy Robinson lost both of their parents at age nine. He turned to music and writing as a means of self expression and comfort in dealing with trauma in his life to remain positive and focused.

His passion for music and his native country has taken him in a creative direction to use soca, reggae and dancehall music to entertain as well as to promote St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Caribbean culture and lifestyle whilst living in Northern Ireland and the UK.

In August 2016, Major Dan performed as a finalist of the UK Soca Monarch Competition in London.

He is the first Caribbean musician currently based in the region to introduce Northern Ireland to combine soca, reggae and dancehall music apart from Grammy award dancehall artist Sean Paul who recently headlined the MTV concert to celebrate opening of the new Titanic Belfast Building in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

A number of Vincentians also took part in the making of the video.
