A Vincentian is one of 60 young people from across the Commonwealth who are being recognized as exceptional leaders in their community, and will have the honor of receiving a prestigious Queen’s Young Leaders Award.

Twenty-six year old, Dillon Ollivierre, from Bequia has been selected in recognition of his work in mentorship and social enterprise.

Ollivierre said he is “extremely excited to have been chosen to be part of the Queen’s Young Leadership Award”.

He noted that “As director of Rise Up Bequia, a Non-Governmental Organization which was established to help those affected by the 2013 floods, he has worked to raise money for victims and to provide children with school supplies.”

The Queen’s Young Leaders Award, which will be presented in London by Her Majesty The Queen in 2016, and is part of The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme, celebrates the achievements of young people who are taking the lead to transform the lives of others and make a lasting difference in their communities.
