Vincentian Soca Artiste Lornette “Fyah Empress” Nedd has refuted claims by the New Democratic Party (NDP) as to why she opted not to perform at the party’s Youth Rally in Barrouallie last Saturday evening.

Fyah Empress was listed among the slate of artistes to perform at the NDP’s youth rally; however, in a Facebook post on Saturday afternoon the NDP said Fyah Empress withdrew at the last minute, after her family had come under pressure and threats of victimization by the Ralph Gonsalves administration.

However, speaking on a Unity Labour Party (ULP) rally in Calliaqua, on Saturday night, “Fyah Empress” explained that the reason she had decided not to perform at the NDP’s Youth Rally was not as a result of threats of victimization, but as a result of family coming first.
