Vincentian Nigel Scott, who is the current Director of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, has been elected as President of the Association of Caribbean Tertiary Institutions (ACTI).

Mr. Scott was elected to the post at the recent Annual General Meeting held on February 23, 2018.

The other members of the executive are First Vice President, Dr. Duranda Greene-President of Bermuda College; Second Vice President-Mr. Henderson Thompson- Director of the Barbados Vocational Training Board; Treasurer, Mr. Philmore McCarthy, Principal of Excelsior Community College, Jamaica.

The executive’s term will run for three years.

The Association of Caribbean Tertiary Institutions (ACTI) was incorporated in November 1990. It was established after a series of discussions among Caribbean tertiary institutions during the late 1980’s.

Today, ACTI’s membership spans some 21 countries in the region from Bermuda in the North to Guyana and Suriname in the south.
