The University of the West Indies Open Campus will be hosting its Annual Independence Lecture tomorrow October 22nd.

This year, Mr. Herbert Samuel will deliver the lecture on the topic, ‘Independence: A 21st Century Toolkit for the Caribbean’.

Mr. Herbert Samuel is a consultant and entrepreneur, with a background in energy and electricity planning, engineering and project management.

He is the founder of Welectricity, a ground-breaking, multiple-award-winning, behavior-based web app that helps users track, compare and reduce their household electricity consumption without the use of any additional in-home devices or smart meters.

Earlier this year, Mr. Samuel was a recipient of the prestigious Anthony N Sabga Caribbean Award for Excellence, in the category of entrepreneurship – the first winner in this new category, and the third Vincentian to receive this regional award.

The Annual Independence Lecture will take place from 7:00 pm tomorrow at the Methodist Church Hall.
