A training and sensitization workshop for Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police and Prison Officers on the Juvenile Justice Reform processes in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will conclude here, tomorrow January 15.

The two three – day training workshops were hosted by the Ministry of National Mobilisation in keeping with the objectives of the Juvenile Justice Reform Project (JJRP) – Phase Two relative to diversion, rehabilitation, and reintegration, the OECS Commission.

The training from February 5 – 15, 2018 is taking place at the Lecture Hall of the Police Training School from 8:15 am to 4:15pm daily.

The objectives of this capacity building exercise are to sensitize the identified officers on the juvenile justice system in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, International instruments in juvenile justice administration, Risk and protective factors, Child Justice Bill – Synopsis of reform measures, Adolescent development and juvenile justice, Anticipated Police Duties under the Child Justice Bill, Custody / Detention / Supervision and Diversion.

A closing ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow at 4.30pm at the Police Training School.
