A Trainer of Trainers workshop is being held here for teachers who will be required to support future training exercises.
This comes as a set of learning standards and assessment framework to improve the quality of primary education in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), was recently developed and must now be integrated into the teaching and learning process.
The two-day session is being convened today and tomorrow at the Catholic Pastoral Centre in Edinboro and is being facilitated by Project Team Lead, Dr. Margaret Niles.
The OECS Education Sector Strategy (2012 – 2021) outlines various strategic objectives intended to improve the quality of education and ultimately students’ performance across OECS member states.
The development of educational standards, designed to improve curriculum and assessment, was identified as a priority. The standards have been developed in four core areas – Mathematics, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.
