Trade Unions across St. Vincent and the Grenadines will receive a 1% retroactive increase from July 1st 2018, to December 31st 2018, a further increase of 1½ % increase for 2019 and a further increase of 2% for 2020.

The decision comes following a 3 hour meeting between Executive members of the National Workers Movement, the Commercial and Technical Allied Workers Union and the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, on January Friday 11th January exchanged views on matters of wage and Salary increases.

In a release, it was further agreed to a detailed discussion on allowances, other workers benefits and allowances. The two unions’ representatives will meet on matters with a GOSVG committee – headed by the Director General of Finance and Planning.

The CTAWU’s delegation was led by Mr. Burns Bonadie, while the NWM was led by Mr. Noel Jackson and the GOSVG Committee by Dr. Ralph Gonsalves as well as the Minister of finance, Camillo Gonsalves and Minister of Labour Saboto Caesar and four senior public officials.

Absent at the meeting were the PSU, SVGTU AND PWA, who failed to comply with the security requites at the Office of the Prime Minister, by surrendering their cell phones at the security checkpoint.
