Officials at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority are expecting to see a ten percent increase in the number of Christmas Barrels being processed during the concessionary period that commenced on November 9th.

This is according to Operations Officer at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority, Wallwin Nichols.

Mr. Nichols said they are expecting an increase in the clearing of barrels and other personal effects, this week.

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority has extended its hours of operation between the period December 18th to 23rd, to facilitate persons who would like to clear their barrels and other personal items before Christmas Day.

The Port Authority has also employed close to two hundred workers at Campden Park and in Kingstown to accommodate the anticipated large influx of barrels for this Christmas season.
