The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society will host the launch of a new Disaster Risk Reduction Programme on Thursday August 20th at the NIS Conference Facility.

The program is entitled “Community Resilience and Institutional Preparedness in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Lesser Antilles facing Natural Hazards”. It will commence at 9 a.m.

According to NBC News, the expected outcome of the program is to support six communities at risk of either flooding or volcanic activity with disaster risk reduction programs.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will deliver the main address.
