The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Co-operative League and the Financial Services Authority (FSA) are collaborating to provide Supervisory and Compliance Committee members with a greater understanding of their role and responsibilities as Supervisors.

To this end, a Supervisory and Compliance Committee training workshop will be held tomorrow at the SVG Co-operative League Conference Room beginning at 1:30pm.

The workshop to be hosted by the Co-operative League and facilitated by the FSA will focus on the critical role Supervisory and Compliance Committee members play in ensuring the safety and soundness of credit unions.

During the workshop, new and existing supervisory committee members will get an opportunity to review their responsibilities in keeping with updated legislation and prudential standards for credit union oversight.

After completing the training participants will be able to verify procedures for effective internal controls, apply best practices for eradicating non-compliant activity, and better understand emerging risks and challenges facing the credit union industry today.
