St. Vincent and the Grenadine Co-operative League along with other Credit unions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will join credit unions in other communities around the world to celebrate International Credit Union Day Today, October 19.

This year’s theme is; “Dreams Thrive Here” celebrates how credit unions as member-owned, service-oriented financial co-operatives, provide an effective and viable alternative for 66,000 thousand Vincentians.

The Credit Union Month platform this year is focusing especially on rallying help for the people of Dominica and other Caribbean countries devastated by hurricanes.

The SVG Co-operative League and its member-credit unions have teamed up with the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions to raise a target of one million US dollars to aid these storm-ravaged countries.

To make contributions to the Credit Unions Disaster Recovery Drive, members and the general public can contact GECCU, Kingstown Credit Union, Teachers Credit Union, St. Vincent Automotive Co-operative society, and the SVG Co-operative League.
