This country joins the global community today in celebrating International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

From November 25th, to December 10th, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world.

Development Officer of Soroptimist International of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Bar Association, Renee Baptiste, in reflecting on yesterday’s observance says there has been an ongoing campaign by several organizations to address this issue of violence against women and girls.

Meanwhile, Ms. Baptiste says she is deeply concerned about the negative comments about women that are being uttered by some local political candidates.
