Students will be allowed to work in Taiwan while studying.

The Taiwanese Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Baushuan Ger said that the aim is to encourage the Foreign Students to gain hands on experience and sharpen their Mandarin skills and he hopes that many of the new students will utilize this scheme.

The ambassador also hopes that when students return to St. Vincent and the Grenadines they would not only bring back their degree but also working experience.

The Taiwan Scholarship program was launched in 2004 and this is the first time that students are being allowed to work while studying.

The ambassador further stated that although they have limited capacity to sponsor more students to study in Taiwan his government pledges to provide a further 13 million dollars to youth development projects in St. Vincent.
