Members of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union (SVGTU) will be voting on Tuesday February 27 and Wednesday February 28, 2018 to elect a new executive to manage the union’s affairs for the 2018-2020 bienniums.

The Elections which are expected to be keenly contested will see Wendy Bynoe and Vibert Lampkin vying for the position of President, while outgoing President Oswald Robinson and outgoing Assistant General Secretary Sheri Edwards would be competing for the General Secretary’s position.

Other positions being contested are: Second Vice President-Clarence Crooke and Andrew John; Assistant General Secretary-Sharon Doyle and Nikeisha Williams; Public Relations Officer-Sheddie Conliffe and Jonathan Roberts; and Committee Members-Noland Allen, Anthony Compton, Ketty Kydd-Rhynd, Anthony Stewart, Edmira Walker and Vanrick Williams.

Both Kent “Bing” Cain and James “Jimmy” Wilson are unopposed for the positions of First Vice President and Treasurer, respectively.

Persons elected to serve on the Union’s Executive will be installed at the Union’s 20th Biennial Convention scheduled for April 5, 2018.
