The Executive body of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association said it has considered very carefully the current situation around the world regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and has determined that the 2020 National Netball Tournament must, of necessity, be suspended, as part of its wider efforts to protect the health and wellbeing of the officials, netballers, fans, and the broader community.

This decision has been made in the light of the implications of this global public health crisis and the attendant medical advice of the World Health Organisation and the local Ministry of Health, as well as the policies in this regard determined by the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Executive body will said it will review the situation at a later date and, based on the latest medical advice and government regulation, will determine when the tournament should resume.

Training for the senior national team, the Under 16 Team, as well as for the various other clubs and teams, has, therefore, been officially suspended.

The association said it is committed to playing its role to ensure that the spread of the virus is slowed and to find ways that we can keep our communities healthy.

The SVG Netball Association is, therefore, urging all officials, teams and clubs to act responsibly and to follow the guidance of the competent authorities. We encourage the use of on-line tools and social media to ensure that we can continue to support each other.
