St. Kitts-Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris has condemned the attack that led to the death of one woman and injured another in Nevis early on Monday.

In a release Tuesday, Harris said the incident that took place in Cotton Ground, was in “shocking contrast with the values espoused during this season of reverence”.

The police report that early on Monday, Moreall Webbe, age 28 was killed and Sonia Grant, age 34, sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling was riddled with bullets.

The prime minister said the “heinous incident serves as a lurid reminder that we all need to band together and look out for one another to stamp out the scourge of crime”.

He also said that crime can have an impact on anyone and encouraged residents to support security officials “because they stand up for us each and every day on the frontlines in the war on crime”.
