Six finalists will compete tonight in the Lions Club South, LIME and NIS sponsored Secondary Schools National Public Speaking Competition.

The finalists are Aaron Weekes of the St. Vincent Grammar School; Jaykel Mars-Bishop’s College Kingstown; Nadia Rogers-Mountain View Adventist Academy; Shemar Dennis-West St. George Secondary School; Deandre Quashie-Georgetown Secondary School; and Delano King of the Troumaca Ontario Secondary School.

They were selected following presentations from fifteen students at the four preliminaries held during the period October 13th-16th.

The students will discuss the topic: “Our Approach to Homosexuality is a Reflection of our Failure to Embrace Diversity and Greater Tolerance for People who are Different.”

The finals will take place at the Methodist Church Hall from 7:00 pm.
