Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, is encouraging Caribbean leaders to collaborate on ways to collectively strengthen tourism across the region.

He says that while there is high demand for the product, collaboration will further boost its allure and competitiveness.

According to Caribbean 360 news, Bartlett was speaking at the 26th World Travel Awards Caribbean and North America Gala Ceremony at Sandals Montego Bay on Monday.

Noting that 30 million tourists visited the region in 2018, he said Caribbean countries remain highly dependent on tourism to drive economic growth.

The Jamaican Tourism Minister said it is therefore imperative that regional tourism leaders “work together as a team to build the strength of tourism and make it work for the people of these countries”.
