Thirteen men and one woman from the Regional Security System (RSS) Coast Guard recently successfully completed a four-week Junior Leadership training course.

Officers from Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and host country Antigua and Barbuda spent the month engaged in classroom and field training to sharpen their skills and knowledge on how to take charge at a tactical level.

Deputy Executive Director of the Regional Security System Headquarters, Bertie Hinds told the graduates who were present at Friday’s ceremony that their competencies would enable the region to continue to harness the strong leadership skills of its highly trained forces to effectively deal with the challenges of a changing maritime environment.

Director General of Antigua and Barbuda Department of Marine Services, Ambassador Dwight Gardiner urged the graduates to adopt the techniques learnt to complement the leadership of their superiors.
