The prize giving ceremony for the 2017 Nine Mornings Festival will take place tomorrow January 6, 2018.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin from 9.30 am at the Peace Memorial Hall and will see prizes being distributed to the various zonal and national winners in the VINLEC Community Lighting Competitions.

There will also be the much anticipated announcements of the Best Nine Mornings Community, Best Christmas Community, Best Community on Parade, Best Community Song, Most Popular Local Christmas Song and Winners in the ‘It’s My Nine Mornings’ Poster Competition.

From results announced so far Point Village emerged winners of the Community Lighting Competition for the fifth consecutive year, The Botanic Gardens won Best Lit Garden and Mrs. Olivia DaSilva won the Best Lit Private House.

Addresses at tomorrow’s prize giving ceremony will come from Minister of Culture Cecil McKie, the Nine Mornings Committee and representatives of the principal sponsors, the National Lottery Authority and VINLEC. There will also be an exhibition of entries from the Poster Competition.

The 2017 festivities have been hailed a success with good programs and large audience attendances around the country.

Nine Mornings in St. Vincent and the Grenadines was celebrated from December 16 to 24 under the theme: ‘Spreading the love in 2017’.”
