Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves met with Cuban President Raul Castro on Monday afternoon, while in Cuba on a working visit.

During the meeting the two leaders noted the progress in bilateral relations and welcomed the recent commemoration of the 25th anniversary of their establishment.

Dr. Gonsalves ratified his solidarity with the Cuba following the new policy announcement of the US government towards the island.

He and President Castro also addressed issues of regional and international interest; in particular, the situation with respect to Venezuela.

Accompanying the Prime Minister was Ellsworth John, ambassador of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Cuba.
