An investigation has been launched into an incident at Yambou in which a utility pole belonging to the St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) was set on fire.

An official at VINLEC told WEFM NEWS that the incident occurred yesterday morning.

The SEARCHLIGHT Newspaper had reported on its Facebook page that VINLEC received a call that the utility pole was on fire, and on investigation, remnants of a burnt tyre were found at the base of the pole.

Yesterday’s incident comes on the heels of two attempts by persons to Fire Bomb the St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) head office at Paul’s Avenue, in Kingstown.

According to Police the incidents occurred on January 1st and 4th, this year.
