Members of the Parliamentary Opposition are continuing to boycott Parliament.

The New Democratic Party (NDP) Members of Parliament (MPs) did not attend parliament yesterday for the Governor General’s Throne Speech or the Prime Minister’s presentation of the 2016 Budget, and they were not present this morning for the commencement of debate on the Budget.

The absence of the opposition MP’s comes even as the government has threatened to introduce legislation that will penalize monetarily, persons who are appointed to parliament but do not attend.

Opposition MPs have been boycotting sessions of parliament in protest of the outcome of the December 9th, 2015 General Elections which they say were stolen.
