Over 5 million plastic bottles have been removed from the local environment since All Island Recycling Incorporated (AIR Inc) began operating here in 2012.
This was disclosed by Manager at the Solid Waste Management Unit of the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA), Mr. Winsbert Quow speaking at a press conference on Friday, where he noted that many persons have been engaged in collecting plastic bottles and tins which they sell to AIR Inc.
Mr. Quow said AIR Inc is planning to add cardboard to its list of recyclable materials to be collected.
