The St. Vincent Grammar School was awarded today for having won the Outstanding School Award in the Secondary School Bible Quiz (SSBQ) for 2015, taking this coveted award for the fifth time.

The award is presented to the school from which the most entries were received during the year.

St. Joseph Convent Kingstown and the Bishop’s College Kingstown placed 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The prize which included a plaque compliments Right Stuff, $1,200 cash compliments SVG Solidarity In Action Carpark and the Jacks family, and a cake from Allan Smith’s Family Bakery were officially handed over this morning at the St. Vincent Grammar School’s assembly.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of the Distinguished Graduate Award, which goes to the student who has entered the quiz ten or more months and returned the best CSEC. The prize which included $1,000 was won by Judah Smith a former student of the St. Vincent Grammar School.

Speaking at the ceremony, Joel Jack, organizer of the quiz, said that the Quiz which is now into its 9th year is providing incentives for young people of our nation to interest themselves in things spiritual.

He said over the years the quiz has given away about ninety Bibles, a number of other books and, thousands of dollars in cash, gift-vouchers and other prizes.
