Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says the multi-million dollar Glossy Bay Marina in Canouan will be an asset to this country’s tourism product.
The Marina is comprised of 120 Berths, a Head Office and Operations Centre; Commercial Units; Residential Apartments; Restaurant; Beach Club and Private Villa Lots.
Delivering the feature address at the official opening of the facility on Monday, Prime Minister Gonsalves said the opening of the Marina will open up new opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Glossy Bay Construction, Elena Korach said while the Marina will now open for business, the construction effort is still ongoing, with an extensive re-landscaping plan of over 50 acres of land to create a lush botanic garden, and the construction of the Marina Plaza, 70,000 square feet of shops and apartments, complemented by a sophisticated Bar and Restaurant, and a Yacht Club with meeting facilities and a gym.
According to Ms. Korach, to date, over 250 million EC dollars were disbursed towards the fulfillment of this Project, and Glossy Bay Marina Limited is planning to spend over a hundred more to complete the Marina Plaza.
