An official Government delegation comprised of Minister of Agriculture- Saboto Caesar, Minister of Economic Planning- Camillo Gonsalves, and three technicians is expected to leave the state tomorrow morning to visit Tortola to meet with government officials, community leaders and Vincentians living there.

Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar said they will also be having a meeting in Virgin Gorda tomorrow.

“It’s going to be a very short turn around because when we get up there on Wednesday we want to leave by Thursday morning and our way down we are going to make a stop in Anguilla and have similar meetings with government officials there, fellow Vincentians and some persons who are in the private sector in Anguilla who are already searching for workers,” Minister Caesar said.

In the meantime, Minister Caesar said the South Central Windward Producers Co-operative will be collecting names of skilled construction workers who wish to volunteer or be employed in the reconstruction efforts in Anguilla, Barbuda, BVI and the US Virgin Islands (USVI).

Persons, who are carpenters, masons, plumbers, etc, are asked to take along a valid passport for interview at the Sans Souci Learning Resource Centre from 10am-3pm tomorrow September 13 and Friday September 15.

Persons with family members in the BVI and other affected islands who are incapacitated in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma wishing to obtain information on possible assistance for returning to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, can do so by calling telephone number: 1-784-434-4955.
