The Ministry of Labour has signalled its commitment to holding non-compliant employers to account for violations of the requisite labour laws pertaining to wages, hours of work and working conditions.
This assurance came from Minister of Labour, Hon. Camillio Gonsalves during his remarks yesterday at a ceremony held at the Peace Memorial Hall in Kingstown, to officially launch the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Wages Councils.
He said that this year, the Department of Labour intends to conduct a review of the Protection of Employment Act of 2003.
The Minister of Labour also disclosed that he intends to actively pursue increased investigation and enforcement of potential breaches of the laws.
