The new Governor General, Mrs. Susan Dougan will be officially sworn in on Thursday august 1st at Government House.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, while delivering remarks during the launch of the Renewal @40 on Saturday 20th July 2018, which was held at the SVG Community College.
Miss Dougan, a retired educator who has served as Cabinet Secretary, Chief Education officer, and principal of the Girls High School, will take up the post.
Sir Frederick Ballantyne, who will tomorrow July 31st demit office due to health reasons, has been Governor General of SVG since September 2nd 2002.
Thursday’s official ceremony will commence at 9 a.m.
