Member of the Eastern Caribbean Monetary Council and recently re-elected Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the body has “narrowed” down the candidates vying to serve as the new Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).

Without disclosing the number of applicants or those who remain under consideration Dr. Gonsalves told the Antigua-based OBSERVER media, on Thursday that, “The matter has been narrowed down and I think you will get an announcement shortly.”

The Vincentian Prime Minister said he is uncertain why the process has been held up even though the former governor, Sir Dwight Venner, retired at the end of November this year.
