Residents in the vicinity of East St. George will this week learn more about Tsunami readiness, when the National Emergency organization hosts a Tsunami Ready Pilot Project on Thursday 28th February 2019.

The purpose of this community meeting is to sensitize persons to the Tsunami Ready Pilot Project and Programme and to present the Tsunami inundation map of the area to the public.

This meeting targets residence, owners and operators of businesses along the coastal communities from Arnos Vale to Argyle.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony for the series of workshops, on Tsunami Inundation, Modeling and Evacuation Mapping hosted by NEMO, Director of NEMO Michelle Forbes said NEMO has implemented several programs in St. Vincent and the Grenadines – funded by USAID, SRC, and CDEMA.

Miss Forbes encourages persons to be a part of Thursday’s event.

The series of workshops, on Tsunami Inundation, Modeling and Evacuation Mapping is facilitated are expected to culminate on Friday March 1st.
