The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO), through the Meteorological Services is monitoring Tropical Storm Grace, the seventh tropical storm of the season which has formed over the Atlantic.

According to information received from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Office, at 5 am Tropical Storm Grace was centered approximately 1870 miles east of the Windward Islands.

Tropical Storm Grace is moving to the west at 16 miles per hour and this general motion is expected to continue over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 miles per hour with higher gust.

Some gradual weakening is forecast during the upcoming days.

A tropical wave is also expected to generate cloudiness, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across St. Vincent and the Grenadines later today. Thereafter, by late Wednesday, a westward moving tropical wave will approach the islands.

NEMO is urging everyone to continue to monitor their radios for more information as it continues to monitor this system. The public is also being reminded that we are in the hurricane season and it is very important to be prepared.
